How To Use Leverage..


If you live in US then you are probably familiar Walmart. It is a giant of a store that sells pretty much anything at competitive prices.

I have noticed recently that a new Walmart that sprung up was built in an area that has little or no other stores. Since they are a huge multi-billion dollar corporation they can afford to be a pioneer in new locations. Then, interestingly, shortly after the new Walmart was built dozens of other smaller stores appeared around our location.

So, why would these smaller stores try to compete with Walmart when clearly most people love its convenience and low prices? Well, if you have ever invested in real estate you know the answer is "leverage".

If you are like most people you have probably found it quite difficult to start getting a lot of traffic to your new website. This is a normal problem that most face every day.

Another common problem is looking at others in their industry as competition. Actually, it is very rare that you really have any competition.

You have to change your view and look at them as potential partners. Do you think those other smaller stores appeared around Walmart to try to compete with that giant? No! The owners realized that Walmart draws a lot of customers (i.e. traffic) to their specific location (i.e. website).

They can benefit from that traffic even if they don't get all of it.

Why not use this same philosophy when trying to build your first email list?

Consider using others' resources in order to build your own business.

Suppose that you are in the market of helping others to quit smoking, but you have no list. After doing a Google search you discover another website with the same purpose that gets a ton of people every day and also has been building a list for quite some time. You could do one of two things:

1. Get discouraged and give up.
2. Contact the owner and see if you could advertise in their ezine for a price. If they don't already have advertising you will need to negotiate a price. But most larger ezines that accept advertising already have prices worked out. This benefits you greatly as you are able to target the EXACT market that you want to work with. They have already shown that they are interested, so they are the perfect match for your website.

This also means more chances to be ranked well under search engines as a site has a big catalog of relevant content.

People love to get the latest information and your fresh content quenches their thirst on their favorite topics.

This helps us build authority and trust among visitors and can result in more backlinks!

In other words, more and more sites will be willing to link with your website/blog.

Moreover, updated pages create additional mini webs.

How Do You Get Your Visitors To Return?




Let's look at what you usually do when
surfing the web. You see a blog you like
and start to read it. You are thinking
about what a great blog it is, and if you
really like it, you bookmark it so you
can come back again.

Then something interrupts you, it may be
the dog barking at a neighbor, or one of
the kids starting to cry and you are
called away.

What happens when you get back? You have
forgotten what you were looking at, and
what are the odds you'll ever use the
bookmark to go back?

Your blog visitor is no different than you
are. No matter how great your blog is,
things constantly distract people and your

what they have to say.

You are very likely to go back and read
more of their blog. What is more, is that

information and your permission.

Getting Traffic Via YouTube

1) What To Promote With Your Video

Pick something to promote,
it could be your own product
or an affiliate offer.

2) Keyword Research

Use Googles free keyword tool
and search for some targeted
keywords that do not have too
much competition.

3) Create brief videos to upload
to Youtube


They don't have to be anything fancy,
just offer a few good tips.

You can just put some bullet points
on a powerpoint slide or even a
Word doc and record that with you
speaking over it.


4) Advertise Your Website

Show the website clearly at
the end of the video with a call
to action.

Send people to a squeeze
page
where they can get a free report
or some other bribe.

That way people will be motiviated to
go to your site and you can build a list,
then redirect them to your product
or affiliate link when they opt in.

5) Optimize Each Video

With 3 things:

A) Title
B) Tags
C) Description

Start the title with
keyword you are targeting, as long as
it makes sense.

Also use it in the keyword tags
and description.

6) Promote Your Own Videos

If you build some backlinks to your own
videos they will rank higher.

By just by using some social
bookmarking for example you will give
your self an edge.

7) Scale It Up

Try sending out some audio postcards promoting
your videos

Using "YOU" and theTRAFFICplan


What's In a Name?

Personalized mailings were all the rage in direct marketing... back in 1975.
They continue to be a staple today, online as well as off, based on the idea
that no sound is sweeter than that of your own name.

Given my one or two experiences with hand-shaking, name-abusing car salesman
over the years, I beg to differ. ("Larry, what can we do to get you behind
the wheel of this beauty today... Larry?")

That doesn't mean personalizing a theTRAFFICplan mailing doesn't work.
Only that the same principle that made it a good idea decades ago has matured
today. That is,using your prospect's name is a good beginning - but better is a stronger,
fuller profile of what the customer cares about.

Think Amazon remembering past purchases and suggesting new ones. Think
psychographic marketing, not just demographics. The baseline rule: The goal
of getting personal with your prospect is actually getting personal, not
just pretending to have a connection.

That said, one of the most popular pieces of copywriting advice you're likely
to hear is to write your sales pitches in the second person. This doesn't mean
developing a split personality at the keyboard. It means writing to the "you" - as
in, your reader.

Of course, arbitrarily stuffing "you" into every sentence is no better than
overplaying your reader's name. If it isn't genuine, it will irritate him.

The difference is often just a mindset. Really write to the "you" while you
picture him in your head, and all the phoniness falls away.
